Partners in Progress Campaign

With the recent economic downtown, the demand and need for ACCION
Texas Inc.'s services are greater than ever. For example, when highly skilled people are laid off from long-time jobs, they often become entrepreneurs out of necessity. Loan dollars come primarily from the government, foundations and banks, However, today far more of these deserving borrowers are seeking loans than ACCION has money to lend.
That’s why we are launching a campaign to establish a revolving loan pool, funded by those of us who are fortunate to be in a position to provide capital for small San Antonio businesses. Our goal is to raise $1 million. ACCION will lend every dollar raised to a deserving and enterprising San Antonio-based business. As the loans are paid off, the money will be lent to other small
businesses – your gift will keep on giving.

The goal

The Partners in Progress Campaign’s goal is to raise $7 million in Texas and Louisiana. The funds raised will be used as capital to create a loan pool for the service areas. 100% of these funds are lent to small businesses at reduced interest rates.

Your contribution

One hundred percent of your contribution will go to small businesses. Any loan losses from your contribution will be replenished with other ACCION capital. Your contribution would be in the form of a revolving loan fund (average 36-month term) – The Gift that Keeps on Giving!

Why your contribution matters

ACCION Texas Inc.’s success stories are endless. They are stories of real lives, and they inspire others.

Clients come back again and again, and they refer their colleagues and friends. Bank support has been unwavering. But, as ACCION grows, its constraint is not finding eligible clients -- it is finding capital. Its dependence on financial institutions for its loan funding is of great concern.

Today ACCION Texas Inc. needs help from people who recognize its value. It must have a pool of funds, independent of bank funding, to use for its growing base of clients. It also must have more certainty in ensuring its ability to grow the number of loans available for small businesses to help drive the small business economy.

This is where philanthropic leadership can make a difference. ACCION Texas Inc. seeks community partners and donors who believe credit and business opportunity should be available to more than those who traditionally receive credit. This is the organization’s continuing mission.

ACCION Texas Inc. seeks contributions based on a sense of social responsibility and the belief that microlending is far more valuable than charity. We invite you to join our effort to fund microloans that make small businesses self-reliant and capable of transforming both lives and communities.

You can make a difference by helping those who are willing to help themselves. Join us in transforming lives and communities in your hometown. Your contribution stays in the community you want to serve.
