Leanne A. King, president of SeeKing HR, and Anne Marie Grube, owner of Tortilleria La Tradicional, are the winners of two business awards from the South Texas Women's Business Center this year.
King will receive the second annual Capital One Bank and STWBC business plan competition award for developing the top business plan, while Grube will claim the inaugural Accion bravo! business award for entrepreneurial spirit.
Both women will be recognized at the center's second annual business symposium Wednesday at the Norris Conference Center in the Wonderland of the Americas Mall.
“Both awardees are great assets to the community,” said STWBC Director Celina Peña. “These recipients have a drive to grow, employ and thrive.”
Mayor Julián Castro and Jennifer Elliott, principal of the Texas Women's Venture, will be among the speakers at the business symposium, which will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Norris Conference Center in the Wonderland of the Americas Mall. It is held to help women-owned businesses learn skills and build networks that help them grow.
